Great location, great staff, clean room, and great price especially for one night. Our last hotel experience at a days in was terrible but we have found our hotel for when we visit KC until we come back and live here. Hopefully their renovation will have started and completed by our next stay.
I never leave reviews but I saw so many negative ones (after I booked nonrefundable) it made my wife and I very nervous before we arrived. Maybe we got a good room but I did not experience any of the negativity seen in the other reviews. Room could have been nicer but it was by far the cheapest hotel in the area so I didn't expect a 5 star hotel. Definitely have had to stay in worse hotels before. Area is a little sketchy, that's Kansas City downtown for you though.
I was worried about my stay after reading the reviews. We stayed here one night and the neighborhood was quiet and the room was mostly clean (bathtub was a little grimy). No odd smells, no visible mold, no loud neighbors. Served the purpose of a safe, quick stay.
Considering the fairly reasonable price on a last min stay it was worth it. The front desk people were friendly and very helpful. Our only complaint is no hot breakfast and they could definitely add more parking. Other than that the room was decent and it was nice and quiet!
The room is clean and nice, with a charming old building vibe. However, the toilet flush is quite weak. All the staff are really nice and kind. We loved the location because it’s just a two-minute walk to the streetcar station, and there are some good pubs and bars nearby. I felt safe there, and the hotel’s main entrance is closed from 10 PM to 10 AM, so only key holders can enter. Breakfast includes bread, bagels, yogurt, butter, cream cheese, jam, coffee, and tea. Overall, it’s a nice place!
I was nervous after all these reviews, but I had a great 4 night stay here. No bugs, no mold, no major problems! The location is convenient and feels safe. There were some minor issues (scratched wall paint, toilet sometimes flushed for a long time, the lamp shade didn’t stay in place, and a couple of the towels weren’t sparkly clean), but the price and the friendly service made up for it. I’d recommend.
Rooms are in the process of a remodel so they are old and not the cleanest. Pics for the remodel look nice though. Front desk service was great. Housekeeping has to be requested or is the 3rd day of stay.
Great clean hotel. Staff was always available and friendly. I parked a nice car here and had zero issues. My room was clean and shower was hot. I stayed for 10 nights with a weekend between where i went back home then returned and I didn't have a single problem. It everything a cheap 2 star hotel should be. Hallways can smell funky at times but the smell never made it to the room. Fitness room is extremely weak
